What exactly is Character AI?

Once your AI character is created, you access a discussion interface very similar to ChatGPT's. But where Character.AI stands out is in the voice call function.

You can literally call your AI and chat with it as if you were talking to a real person. And that's where the experience becomes impressive:

• It's capable of recognizing your accent or origins, even if you speak another language very well

Less avatar, more immersion

Unlike Replika AI, Character.AI doesn't offer animated 3D characters. Everything happens in text (or voice), which makes the experience visually lighter but more intense auditorily.

This is also what makes exchanges more natural: the artificial voice is adapted, realistic, and responses are not predictable.
